What the extension is for#

LASI reads each stream’s likes, comments, clicks and items sold from TikTok itself, about a minute behind (see Settings → Integrations → Stream stats). The LIVE dashboard in Seller Center, open in Chrome on the laptop you stream from, shows the same stream second by second. Two numbers come from it: impressions (how often your LIVE was shown), which LASI always takes from the extension, and how many people are watching right now, which TikTok gives LASI only once the streaming account has signed in.

LASI Stream Stats is a small Chrome extension that reads the numbers off that dashboard every few seconds and sends them to LASI. Your team then sees them live — on the web Dashboard, on the show’s board and on the phone — and every stream is kept afterwards so you can compare them in Stream analytics.

The Today tab, while live

The extension reads the TikTok dashboards on the streaming laptop and LASI shows the numbers everywhere your team looks.

It reads numbers and the short labels beside them, nothing else, and it never reads the chat, a buyer’s name or a message. It types nothing on the TikTok page and clicks one thing: TikTok’s own Switch to this LIVE, once the LIVE it was reading has ended and your next one has started (see When the next LIVE starts).

Which TikTok pages it reads#

The extension runs on exactly two TikTok pages and nowhere else:

PageAddressWhat LASI gets from it
LIVE Data Screenshop.tiktok.com/workbench/live/overviewCurrent viewers, impressions, items sold, sales (the Auction and Buy now amounts added together), and TikTok’s rates in percent. Its address carries the stream’s room number, which is how LASI knows which show the stream belongs to.
Streamer Desktopshop.tiktok.com/streamer/live/product/dashboardCurrent viewers, items sold, product clicks and attributed sales. Its LIVE dashboard link carries the stream’s room number too, so this page also tells LASI which show the stream belongs to. It is the page that moves itself to your next LIVE, and the one sale snapshots are taken from.

It does not run on TikTok profiles, the For You feed or any other part of Seller Center. If you open the extension’s popup on another tab it says Open the LIVE Data Screen or the Streamer Desktop in this tab to read its stats.

Installing the extension#

Anyone at the laptop

You install it once on each laptop you stream from, from the Chrome Web Store. You need Google Chrome version 120 or newer.

  1. 1On the streaming laptop, go to Settings → Integrations → Stream stats in LASI and click LASI Stream Stats in the Chrome Web Store. (Not an admin? Ask one for the link. Anyone can install it; only pairing needs an admin.)
  2. 2On the store page, click Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
  3. 3Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome’s toolbar and pin LASI Stream Stats, so its icon is always visible.
trylasi.com/settings/integrations/stream-stats
Settings → Integrations → Stream stats: install from the Chrome Web Store, pair a laptop, and see which laptops are sending.

It keeps itself up to date. Chrome installs each new version by itself, usually within a few hours of its release. An update that arrives during a stream waits until about ten minutes after the stream ends, and a dashboard that is already open carries on without a reload. While one is waiting, the extension’s popup says Update ready: installs when the stream ends.

Pairing a laptop#

Admins

Pairing tells the extension which LASI business to send to. Each laptop gets its own pairing code, so LASI can say which studio a number came from.

  1. 1Go to Settings → Integrations → Stream stats and find Pair a laptop.
  2. 2Type a name in the Laptop box, such as Studio A laptop.
  3. 3Click Pair laptop. A pairing code appears in an amber box. It starts with lasi-pair:.
  4. 4Click Copy. The code is shown only once — if you lose it, pair the laptop again for a new one.
  5. 5On the streaming laptop, click the LASI Stream Stats icon in Chrome, paste the code into the box and click Connect.

When it works, the popup reads Connected · your business name · the laptop name. The laptop appears in the list on the Settings page with a last seen time, and a green dot with sending while it is sending numbers.

Keep the LIVE dashboard tab open on this laptop while you stream. The numbers on it are sent every few seconds; nothing else on the page is read.

The extension’s popup on a paired laptop, reading the Data Screen.

What to do while you stream#

  1. 1Before you go live, open the LIVE Data Screen in Chrome on the paired laptop. Open the Streamer Desktop too if you use it.
  2. 2Leave those tabs open for the whole stream. You can use other tabs and apps; the extension keeps reading in the background.
  3. 3Glance at the extension icon: it shows a green LIVE badge while numbers are being sent.
  4. 4Open the extension’s popup and pick the show under Which show is this laptop streaming? This matters most when two shows are live at once — see Two streams at the same time.
  5. 5Link the stream to its show if it is not linked yet (picking the show in the popup does this for you once the Data Screen is open). An admin or manager taps the stream under Streams today on the phone’s Today tab and chooses Link to the show — or picks the stream when pricing the show. See The post-show flow.

Numbers are read every 5 seconds and sent whenever one changes, and at least once a minute even when nothing moves, so LASI knows the laptop is still there.

Two laptops, two dashboards#

Many sellers keep the Data Screen on one laptop and the Streamer Desktop on another. That works: pair both laptops (each gets its own code), and LASI puts the two together into one stream.

  • On one laptop, the extension reads both tabs and LASI folds them into one reading — each figure is the newest either page printed.
  • On two laptops, LASI joins the Streamer Desktop’s numbers to the Data Screen’s stream when their items sold (or sales) agree. It does this so the whole LIVE is kept as one stream with one show, and shows it as ONE card on the web Dashboard and on the phone’s Today tab.
  • If you run two different LIVEs at the same time (two shops, two rooms), they are never joined. Each stays its own stream.

Two streams at the same time#

If you run two LIVEs at once on two TikTok accounts — one laptop per account — tell LASI which show each laptop is streaming, so each show’s board gets its own numbers and never the other account’s.

  1. 1Create both shows in LASI before you go live.
  2. 2On each streaming laptop, click the LASI Stream Stats icon. Under Which show is this laptop streaming? pick that laptop’s show. The popup then reads This laptop’s numbers go to that show’s board.
  3. 3Or from the phone: on the Today tab, each Live on TikTok card ends with the show it is on. Tap Pick the show (or Change show) and choose it.
  4. 4Or on the web Dashboard: the live panel has a show list beside the show’s name. Pick the show there.
  5. 5Or from the show itself: on the show’s board (phone or web), Which laptop is streaming this show? lists every live laptop that is not on a show yet. Tap the right one.
  • A show’s board shows only the laptops on that show. A laptop on another show never appears there.
  • If exactly one laptop is live and nobody has picked a show for it, the board still shows it, with Yes, this show to confirm.
  • Once the laptop has a LIVE dashboard open, LASI links that stream’s room to the show for you — so the show’s sales, shipping and host split can be pulled without tapping Link to on the phone. A room someone already linked is never changed.
  • The choice lasts for one stream. When the laptop’s next stream starts (after half an hour or more with nothing to read), a choice made before or during the last one is dropped, so the next show is never filed under this one. It also stops applying once the show is finished, or after 20 hours.
  • When someone links the next stream to its show (Link to on the phone’s Today tab), the laptop moves onto that show by itself.
  • Picked the wrong show? Choose the right one in the popup, use Change show on the phone, or tap Not this show on the board. Changing it from the phone or the Dashboard moves the stream’s room link too, for admins and managers.
  • Choosing a show from the phone or the Dashboard is for admins, managers and staff. A host changes it from their own show’s board.
  • Two accounts on one laptop need two Chrome profiles, each with the extension installed and its own pairing code.

Viewer counts, likes and other audience numbers are shown to everyone on your team. GMV and other money figures from the dashboard are shown only to admins, managers and hosts.

When a stream ends#

When your LIVE ends, TikTok’s dashboard keeps showing its final figures. The extension notices when no number has moved for 10 minutes and stops sending, so LASI does not say you are live all night. The popup then reads Numbers stopped moving — stream over? Sending paused.

  • LASI treats a laptop as live if it sent a reading in the last 2 minutes.
  • A quiet spell of 30 minutes or more means the next reading starts a new stream.
  • About an hour after a stream ends, LASI takes its exact sales from TikTok’s orders, and those replace the dashboard’s figures in the Streams report.

You can close the tabs once the stream is over. There is nothing to press to "end" anything in the extension.

When the next LIVE starts#

Nobody: the extension does it

TikTok starts every LIVE in a new room and leaves your dashboard tabs on the one that ended. On the Streamer Desktop it shows a bar — “your event” is happening now — with a Switch to this LIVE button. You do not have to press it: the extension moves the tabs for you.

  1. 1Two minutes after the old LIVE’s numbers stop moving, the extension presses Switch to this LIVE on the Streamer Desktop. The page now shows the LIVE that is on, and its numbers reach LASI again.
  2. 2A LIVE Data Screen still showing the old LIVE is then moved to the new one.
  3. 3The popup reads Moved to the new LIVE 3 min ago.
  • It leaves a tab alone if someone used it in the last five minutes, if a form or a drawer is open on it, or while the laptop is building a show. After three tries it leaves the button to you.
  • It clicks nothing else: never Go LIVE, never a Start, never anything in the product list.
  • Which show: if someone has linked the new stream to its show (Link to on the phone’s Today tab), the laptop moves onto that show by itself. Until then, a show’s board still shows the only laptop that is live, with Yes, this show to confirm.
  • A stream the extension moved to by itself is linked to the laptop’s show only if that show has no stream yet. Otherwise it might be the next show starting, so a person links it.
  • A Data Screen on its own cannot follow: TikTok’s Data Screen does not say a new LIVE has started. Keep the Streamer Desktop open too.

Impressions and the Data Screen#

Nobody: the extension does it

Impressions — how often your LIVE was shown — is printed by the LIVE Data Screen and by no other page. The Streamer Desktop does not carry it. So a laptop keeping only the Streamer Desktop sends everything except impressions, and the Impressions tile is simply missing from your cards, with nothing to say why.

You no longer have to remember the second tab. Once a paired laptop is reading a LIVE that is on, and no tab anywhere is on a Data Screen, the extension opens one for that stream in a background tab — behind what you are doing, never taking your screen while you stream.

  • It opens the Data Screen for the stream the laptop is already reading, taken from the Streamer Desktop’s own LIVE dashboard link. It never picks a stream.
  • If a Data Screen is already open — on this LIVE, or on the one that ended — it opens nothing. An old one is moved instead; see When the next LIVE starts.
  • Close the tab and it stays closed: it tries twice for a stream, a few minutes apart, and then leaves it to you. Your next LIVE gets its own try.
  • Nothing opens while the laptop is unpaired, while a show is being built, or when no stream is on.

Stream history and Rebuild#

Admins

Every stream the extension reads is kept for good — its peak, its totals and a minute-by-minute curve — so streams can be compared by day, time and host. The raw readings behind them are kept for 90 days.

The Stream history card on Settings → Integrations → Stream stats says how many streams are saved and since when. Below it is a button:

  • Build history from the readings kept — shown when you have readings but no streams yet (for example, readings sent before stream history existed).
  • Rebuild from the readings kept — recomputes every stream from the last 90 days of readings. Use it after LASI support tells you a fix needs it, or when one LIVE shows up as several streams.

Disconnecting or revoking a laptop#

  • On the laptop: open the extension’s popup and click Disconnect. The laptop stops sending; you can pair it again with a new code.
  • From LASI (admins): on Settings → Integrations → Stream stats, click Revoke beside the laptop. Its extension stops being accepted at once and shows a red ! badge until someone pairs it again.

Revoke a laptop you have sold, lost or handed to someone else. Streams it already sent stay in your history.

Sale snapshots: a picture of every item as it sells#

Admins turn it on

The same extension can keep a still picture of your stream at every item that sells, filed under that item’s own number. Later, a return, a box on the packing bench or a sale nobody scanned can open a picture of the item as it went up.

trylasi.com/settings/integrations/stream-stats
The Sale snapshots card: off until an admin ticks the box.
  1. 1Go to Settings → Integrations → Stream stats and scroll to Sale snapshots.
  2. 2Read what is captured and what is not, then tick Keep a picture of every item that sells.
  3. 3Every paired laptop picks up the change within a few seconds of its next reading. There is no switch to remember per show.
  • Off by default. Nothing is captured on any laptop until an admin turns it on.
  • Where it is taken: from the Streamer Desktop only, because that page has the video, the win lines and the item’s number together. Keep it open on the laptop while you stream.
  • How the item is named: from the auction card, which prints the number and the round (for example #370 A) FIGS…). That matches the sticker number on the packing slip, so the picture lands on the right item.
  • Frames: one per sale by default. Keep three frames of each sale instead of one keeps three. One frame is about 30 MB for a busy show; three is about 90 MB.
  • How long: 90 days, and longer while a return or replacement points at that sale.
  • A frozen picture is never kept. Chrome pauses the video when its window is covered, so a snapshot is skipped rather than saving a still of nothing.

Where you see them

  • A TikTok return’s page, in What the LIVE showed. See Returns.
  • The packing bench’s box card, as a small picture beside each sticker number. See The packing station.
  • A sticker show’s review, beside each sale in Sold on TikTok, never scanned. See Sticker shows.

Hearing the size the host says#

Admins turn it on

With snapshots on, an admin can also tick Listen for the size the host says. The laptop then listens to the stream’s own sound and keeps only a size word (like "medium" or "10") for each item — never the words spoken, never a recording.

  • The listening is done by Chrome on the laptop itself. Nothing is sent anywhere to work it out, and there is no online fallback.
  • Your speakers stay muted. LASI never makes the stream audible in the room.
  • The first time, on each laptop, a button appears on the TikTok dashboard: LASI: turn on size listening (one time). Click it once to install Chrome’s speech model. Until then, the laptop does not listen at all.
  • A size found this way always reads as heard — a suggestion for someone to confirm, never a fact. When two sizes were heard for one item, LASI asks instead of guessing.

Building shows on TikTok#

Admins turn it on

The same extension can build the shows you schedule in LASI, in TikTok’s LIVE Manager: it schedules the LIVE event, then adds each round of your template as a temporary auction in that event’s LIVE console. It asks you before it creates anything, and it never goes live or starts an auction. No other automation to install.

Turn it on for a laptop

  1. 1Go to Settings → Integrations → Stream stats.
  2. 2Beside the laptop you stream from, tick Builds shows. Only an admin can do this; it is off for every laptop until someone does.
  3. 3Make sure you are signed in to TikTok Shop’s LIVE Manager (shop.tiktok.com) in Chrome on that laptop, on the account the show is for.

Build a show

  1. 1Schedule the show in LASI (Auctions → Schedule, or ask Ask LASI to set it up). See Scheduling listings.
  2. 2On the streaming laptop, click the extension's icon. Under Build a show on TikTok you see the shows waiting. Press Build.
  3. 3A new tab opens on LIVE Manager’s LIVE event page. A dark LASI bar at the bottom of the page says what it is doing ("Filling in the event…", "Adding listing 2 of 3…"). Between moves it reads Working out the next step… and counts the seconds; a step can take up to a minute, so a count that is still going is not stuck. Leave the tab alone while it works; it usually takes a few minutes.
  4. 4When the event form is filled in (name, date, start time, duration, description, the two switches), the bar asks: Publish or Stop. Check the form if you like, then press Publish. Nothing is created before you do.
  5. 5It then creates the event, opens its LIVE console and adds each round as a temporary auction. The bar says when it is done, and the show's job in LASI reads Done.
  • Stop in the bar ends the build at any time, within a couple of seconds, even while LASI is still working out a step. Before you pressed Publish, nothing was published and the show goes back to waiting in LASI, ready to build again.
  • This needs extension version 0.3.9 or newer; earlier ones could sit for half a minute between steps, and could not open LIVE Manager’s + Add menu. A copy from the Chrome Web Store updates itself.
  • If TikTok asks you to sign in, solve a check or enter a code, the build stops and tells you. The extension never types a password or a code.
  • If a listing's template leaves out something the form needs (the hazardous-materials answer, say), it stops and names the missing value instead of guessing. Fix the template and build again; listings already created are not created twice.
  • While it builds, the extension reads only the tab it opened: the form's field names and values, headings and error messages.

What the extension never reads#

  • No buyer names, usernames, chat messages or comments. The dashboards show a live feed of winners and bids, and the extension is built to skip it.
  • No page other than the two LIVE dashboards — except the LIVE Manager tab it opened itself for a show you asked it to build.
  • Nothing typed or clicked on TikTok’s page, except the show you asked it to build, TikTok’s own Switch to this LIVE when your next LIVE starts (see When the next LIVE starts), and the size-listening button you click yourself.
  • Snapshots are copied from the video itself, so nothing printed beside it on the dashboard — chat, buyers — can be in the picture.
  • Numbers go only to the LASI business the laptop is paired with.

The full wording is on LASI’s privacy page, which is kept in step with what the extension does.

Copy diagnostics

If a number the dashboard shows never reaches LASI, open the extension on that laptop during a stream, press Copy diagnostics and send it to support. It lists the labels the page carries and nothing personal — no token, no buyer.

Common questions#

Is there a Chrome Web Store version?

Yes, and it is the one to use: Settings → Integrations → Stream stats links to it. It is unlisted, so searching the store does not find it; the link does.

How do I update the extension?

You do not. Chrome installs each new version by itself within a few hours of its release, and never in the middle of a stream. The version each laptop runs is listed under Pair a laptop in Settings. Only a copy loaded from a download stays behind: replace it with the store’s.

Does it slow down my stream?

Reading numbers is tiny work. Sale snapshots do more, so the extension takes fewer frames — or only small ones — when the laptop is busy.

Do I need to keep the laptop’s screen on?

For stats, the tab just needs to stay open. For sale snapshots, keep the Streamer Desktop window visible — Chrome pauses a covered video and no snapshot is taken then.

Can my host install it on their own laptop?

Yes, if that is the laptop they stream from. An admin makes a pairing code for it; the host pastes it into the extension.

Why is the viewer count different from TikTok’s app?

LASI shows the live "Current viewers" figure from the dashboard at that moment. After a LIVE ends, TikTok’s summary prints the total who watched, which is a different, much bigger number.

Why does the Dashboard show GMV but the Streams report shows a different Sales figure?

GMV is what the TikTok dashboard printed during the stream. About an hour after the stream ends, LASI takes the exact sales from TikTok’s orders — cancels carry no money and $0 giveaways are left out — and the report uses those.

I paired the wrong laptop name. Can I rename it?

Revoke it and pair it again with the right name. Streams it already sent stay.

We stream on two shops at once. Will LASI mix them up?

Not once each laptop is on its show: pick the show in the extension’s popup, or on the show’s board. Two rooms live at the same time are always kept as two streams. See Two streams at the same time.

Can I turn snapshots on for one show only?

No — the switch covers every paired laptop, on purpose, so nobody has to remember it at the start of a stream. Turn it off afterwards if you want; pictures already taken are kept until their 90 days run out.
