What the packing station does#

The packing station turns a rack of sold items into sealed, labelled boxes without anyone hunting for the right label. It rests on one simple habit: every item that sells gets a numbered sticker at the set, the number it sold as.

After the show, the packer picks any item off the rack and scans its sticker. LASI knows which buyer bought that number, finds their shipping label, and prints it straight away — no dialog and no second tap. The screen shows every number that belongs in that box, and ticks each one as it is scanned. When the last one is in, the box is Packed.

A buyer who won several items gets one box and one label. Scan any of their numbers and all of them show on the screen; the label prints once, and each item is ticked as it goes in.

  • Nothing on the packing screens shows a price. Packers see buyer names, sticker numbers and shipping bins only.
  • Packing never changes your inventory or your sales figures. It is a record of what went into which box.
  • The bench needs a label printer connected through PrintNode to print by itself. Without one, it opens each label in a browser tab for you to print. See Printers, scanners and cameras.

Printing the sticker roll#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

Print the stickers before the stream. Each sticker is 2×1 inches and carries the number in large type, the show’s date, and a QR code that names this show. Numbers never skip: #64 stays #64 until something sells as 64.

  1. 1Open Auctions and find the show.
  2. 2Open the row’s ⋯ menu and choose Print stickers.
  3. 3Set From and To — for example 1 to 200. A roll can hold up to 1,000 stickers. Ran out mid-show? Print the next range, say 201 to 400.
  4. 4Leave Listing tag blank unless the show runs several listings that each number from 1 (see below).
  5. 5If your business has more than one printer, pick the one loaded with 2×1 stock under Printer for stickers. This computer remembers the choice.
  6. 6Press Print on <printer name> to send the roll straight to that printer. If no printer is set up, press Open PDF instead and print it from your computer.

Listing tags: more than one listing on one show

Some shows run two listings that both count from 1 — say Sheets and Competitors, or Part A and Part B. Without a tag, two items would both be #64 and the bench would have to ask which one you mean. Print one roll per listing, tagged A and B (up to three letters or digits). A tagged sticker reads A-64.

Getting the shipping labels into LASI#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

LASI needs the show’s labels before it can print them. You can get them in three ways:

  • From your shipping software. Download the whole batch as one PDF — labels and packing slips together — exactly as the software gives it to you.
  • From TikTok Seller Center. For labels bought through TikTok Shipping (every USPS label on a US order), download Shipping label + Packing slip with the label and slip on separate pages.
  • Bought inside LASI (coming soon). Once buying is available, labels bought on the Shipping page will arrive on the bench on their own, ready to scan. See Shipping templates, labels and the shipping queue.
  1. 1Open Packing and pick the show.
  2. 2Drag the PDF onto Upload labels (“Drop the label PDF here”), or press Choose file.
  3. 3Wait while LASI reads it. A line such as “48 labels, 47 matched, 1 needs a look” tells you how it went, and the bench refreshes.
  4. 4If anything needs a look, it is listed under Needs review on the right.

LASI splits the file into one label per box. It reads each packing slip for the buyer, the TikTok orders, the tracking number and the sticker numbers, so a slip that runs onto a second page is still read as one box.

Labels that need review#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

LASI never guesses which box a page belongs to. A page it cannot pair is listed under Needs review with its page number (as your PDF viewer shows it) and a reason.

ReasonWhat it meansWhat to do
Label with no packing slipA label page with no slip after it.Read the page, type its sticker numbers in Numbers (for example 63, 167), add the buyer if you like, and press Assign.
Packing slip with no labelA slip with no label before it.Assign it the same way, or check the file came through whole.
Slip could not be readThe slip’s text was unreadable.Type the numbers and press Assign.
Number matches no saleThe slip names a number nobody sold on this show.Check the number, then assign it.
Check this belongs hereNone of its orders or numbers belong to this show’s streams. The label is stored and scans normally. Usually the show’s stream restarted under a second stream nobody linked — linking it clears this. If the label really is another show’s, scan it and press Remove label.
Already on another showThe same label is already a box on another show.Pack it from that show’s bench, or remove it there and upload again here.

An assigned page becomes a box on the card: “Assigned by hand — scan a sticker on it to print”.

Choosing this bench’s printer#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

The chip at the top right of the bench names the printer this computer prints to. With one printer in your business there is nothing to choose. With several, each bench picks its own, so a scan at bench B never prints at bench A.

  1. 1Press the printer chip (it reads choose printer when a choice is needed, or no printer when none is set up).
  2. 2In Which printer is this bench?, pick the station next to you.
  3. 3Press Use this printer.

The choice is remembered on this computer only, for every show. If you scan before choosing, the scan waits and the chooser opens; the scan goes out as soon as you pick.

Starting a session and clocking in#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

A packing session times the show from the first box to the last, and counts boxes for each packer. Every scan is filed under whoever is clocked in on that bench.

  1. 1On the bench, press Start packing in the “No packing session” strip.
  2. 2In Who’s packing?, pick your name, or choose Someone else and type a name.
  3. 3Press Start packing. The session clock starts.
  4. 4A second packer on another computer opens the same show and presses Clock in.

If you scan before anyone is clocked in, the scan is not lost: “Who’s packing?” opens and says how many scans are waiting. They are sent the moment you clock in.

trylasi.com/pack/…
Scanning before anyone is clocked in: pick who is packing and the waiting scan goes through.

The session strip

  • Session — how long the show has been packing, with a + Label chip to say what kind of item it is (see Labels).
  • Packing as — who is clocked in on this bench and for how long, with Last pack … ago.
  • my items, my boxes, items/hr, items/min and boxes/hr — your own numbers while you are clocked in; the whole show’s when nobody is.
  • est. time left — what is left on the rack divided by the combined pace of everyone clocked in, with a line such as “12 boxes · 31 items left · done about 4:40 PM with 2 packing”. It shows a dash until there is a pace to go by.
  • Switch packer (the next person clocks in and you clock out in one step), Clock out (you stop; the session keeps running) and End session (everyone stops).

Scanning and packing a box#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

The bench reads a barcode scanner wherever you are on the page — no box needs to be clicked first. The status line says Scanner ready — scan any sticker.

  1. 1Pick any item off the rack and scan its sticker.
  2. 2The label prints and the box appears on the card: the buyer’s name in large type, their TikTok nickname, the city, the Shipping bin, and every sticker number that belongs in the box. The one you scanned is highlighted and ticked.
  3. 3Put the item in the box. Scan the next number on the list (the card says “Still need …”) and it is ticked.
  4. 4When the last number is ticked, the box reads Packed. Seal it and put it in the bin the card named.

No scanner? Type the number in Type a number and press Go. Stickers from a generic roll work too: 64, #64, A-64 or A64. The box empties and lets go after each number, so your scanner keeps working straight afterwards.

trylasi.com/pack/…

What the screen tells you

You seeIt means
A green flashThe scan worked.
“No label for #64 yet”That number has no label on this show yet — its label may be in a batch still to come.
“Cancelled — put #64 back in inventory” (amber)The buyer cancelled that sale, so it will never have a label. Put the item back on its shelf. See A cancelled item at the bench.
“That sticker is from <show>”The item belongs to another show. Pack it from that show’s bench.
“Not a sticker”The scanner read something that is not a sticker number.
“Which listing?”Two boxes carry that number (two listings, or a replaced label). Tap the right one; each button shows the listing, the nickname and the tracking number’s last four.
“Which number?”The number was typed, not scanned off a sticker, and this show has longer numbers ending the same way. Tap the number on the sticker in your hand. See A typed number that may be missing a digit.
“That scan did not read cleanly”The scanner sent part of a code, or a stray key was pressed. Nothing was scanned and nothing was guessed — scan the sticker again.
“Printer offline: label not printed”The scan was recorded but the printer did not take the label. Press Retry.
“No printer set up: open the label and print it from the browser”No printer is connected. Press Open label.
“Label already printed”The label was printed in advance from the Shipping page, so the bench does not print it again.

The line Last scan 1.4 s (server 1.1 s) shows how long the last scan took, which helps if a bench ever feels slow.

Who packed it

Every bench in the warehouse is usually signed in as the same login, so the name LASI shows is the packer who clocked in, not the computer’s account. Once a box is sealed its status line reads Packed 7:24 PM · Kate, and each ticked number on the checklist says who put it in the box. If a sticker is scanned twice, the message names them too: “Already packed at 7:24 PM by Kate — duplicate sticker?”

This is why clocking in matters beyond the stats. If nobody was clocked in when a box was packed, LASI falls back to naming the login — which on a shared bench is the same name for everybody. Reset a box and the name goes with the ticks; whoever packs it next is the one recorded.

A typed number that may be missing a digit#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

A sticker’s barcode always says the whole number. A number typed by hand can lose its first digit — and on a show numbered into the hundreds that is not an error, it is another customer’s box. Type 72 for the item stickered 172 and #72 is a real box on the same show.

So when a number is typed rather than scanned, and the show also has longer numbers ending the same way, the bench asks Which number? and shows them side by side — 72, 172, 272 — each with the buyer’s nickname and the tracking number’s last four. Tap the number printed on the sticker in your hand. Nothing prints and nothing is ticked until you do.

The same care runs underneath the scanner. If a scan arrives in pieces — a stray key against the keyboard, a burst the computer only half heard — the bench uses the whole code or tells you it did not read cleanly. It never packs a box from part of a number.

Packing the singles first#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

On a show where the items are big and a bundle is a hunt — home goods, say — it is faster to pack every box that holds ONE item first, in sticker order, and do the bundles after. The bench can walk you through that.

  1. 1Upload the labels. Under the upload panel, Packing order offers Singles first — press it. The choice is saved on the show, so everyone who opens this show’s bench sees it.
  2. 2A Singles first panel appears above the card with the counts (how many singles, how many packed, how many to go, then how many bundles). Press Start packing singles.
  3. 3The panel says Next single with the sticker number in large type — “Go find #1 and scan it.” — and the buyer under it. Find that item, scan it; it packs like any other box, and the panel moves to the next number.
  4. 4A second packer on another bench presses Start from the highest number instead. That walk runs the same list from the other end — #300, #299, #298 — so the two of you meet in the middle and never fetch the same box.
  5. 5When the last single is packed the panel says so and offers Pack the bundles in order: the same walk over the bundles, each box named by every sticker on it (“Go find #14, #27, #31”).
  • Skip — you cannot find that item right now. The box goes to the END of the walk, not out of it; the panel lists what is skipped.
  • Highest first / Lowest first — switch to the other end of the rack.
  • Stop — leave the walk. The plan stays on; Start packing singles brings it back.
  • Turn off (on the panel’s corner) — take the plan off the show for everyone.

A number sold in bulk (see Bulk items) is not on the rack, so the walk names the item instead: Next single · from the bulk pile reads “Bamboo pillow” in large type with its number under it. Take one from the pile and press Print & pack — there is nothing to scan. In the bundles walk a bulk number reads “#120 · Bamboo pillow”.

The walk only tells you what to fetch next. Scanning is exactly what it always was: scan a box that is not the next one and it packs all the same, and the walk carries on. Boxes on hold, on another bench or stopped by a cancelled order are not in the walk; the panel says how many are “elsewhere”. A single is a box with one item in it — a line of two, or an item plus a free item, is a bundle.

Carrier bins#

The large coloured banner on the card says which shipping bin the box goes in: UPS Ground, Mail Innovations or USPS Ground Advantage. LASI reads it from the service line on the packing slip, not from the carrier name, because a Mail Innovations label also says “UPS”.

When a slip has no service line, LASI only names a bin it is sure of. Otherwise the banner reads Check the label. For a label uploaded before LASI kept the service line, uploading the same PDF again fills it in.

Free items and lines with no sticker#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

A giveaway has no sticker to scan, so it shows on the checklist as Free item with a Mark packed button. Tap it once the item is in the box. A box cannot reach Packed until every free item is ticked.

  • A buyer who won two free items gets two rows, Free item 1 of 2 and Free item 2 of 2, each ticked on its own.
  • A line TikTok gave no sticker number for reads No sticker and is ticked the same way.
  • Labels that hold nothing but free items are listed in the Free items panel. Print & pack prints the label and packs the box in one tap (Pack if no printer is set up). A label with several free items opens on the card instead, so each one is ticked.

Bulk items: a pile with no stickers#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

On a sticker show, an item that sold by the dozen with no sticker on each one (marked with Bulk sale on the selling screen) waits in a pile with the rest of its kind — not on the rack. The bench knows which numbers those are and says the item’s name wherever it would have sent you to the rack for a number. No more sheet of paper with stickers on it.

  • The Bulk items panel (beside Free items) has one box per item — “Bamboo pillow · 11 to pack · 4 of 15 packed” — listing every label that holds just one of it. Print & pack next prints the next label in number order and packs that box in one tap (Pack if no printer is set up), so you can do every pillow in a row straight from the pile. Each label also has its own Print & pack, and tapping one shows it on the card.
  • On the card, a bulk number reads “#120 · Bamboo pillow” with a Mark packed button, because there is no sticker to scan. A box with a bulk item and stickered items is scanned as usual; tap Mark packed on the bulk line once that item is in.
  • A label holding only bulk items but more than one of them (two pillows, or a pillow and a blanket) is listed under Boxes of bulk items only. Open puts it on the card so each item is ticked on its own.
  • Scanning or typing a bulk number still finds its box, as it always did.

When you scan the wrong item#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

If a box is half packed and you scan a sticker that belongs to a different box, LASI does not switch boxes on its own. It asks.

trylasi.com/pack/…
The Wrong item scanned question: which box the number belongs to, and what this box still needs.
  • Go back — nothing changes. The card tells you which number to go and find. The bench counts this as a mistake caught before it went in a box.
  • Skip — park this box — the half-packed box goes to the hold shelf with a hold tag, and the box for the number you just scanned starts.

Hold, Release, Ship short, Reprint, Reset and Remove#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

The buttons under the card act on the box shown.

ButtonWhat it does
HoldPuts the box on the hold shelf. LASI gives it the next free hold slot (such as H-3) and prints a hold tag. You can add a note, such as “Waiting on the rack”.
ReleaseShown while a box is on hold. Puts it back on the bench.
Print label / ReprintPrints the label again, for paper that went missing. Not offered on a box that has not been started — its first scan prints it.
Open labelOpens the label in a new tab to print from the browser when no printer is set up.
Ship shortCloses the box with items missing. The label is used as is; the missing numbers stay on the rack list. Asks you to confirm.
ResetClears every tick, frees the hold slot and puts the box back to open. The next scan prints its label again. Asks you to confirm.
Remove labelTakes the label off this show, for a batch uploaded to the wrong show. Not offered once a box is packed (Reset it first). Asks you to confirm.
ClearClears the card. Nothing changes.

The hold shelf

The Open holds panel lists every box on the shelf, oldest first, with its slot, how long it has waited, who held it, and what it is missing. Tap a box to put it on the card. Print tag prints its hold tag again if the first one did not come out.

Counts, lists and panels on the bench#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

The chips across the top — open, packing, hold, packed and short — count the show’s boxes. Each one is a button: press it to see the boxes behind the number, with their sticker numbers, buyer, bin and tracking number’s last four. With eight or more boxes a search box appears (“Find a number, buyer or tracking”). Tap a box to put it on the card.

  • Open — labels nobody has scanned yet. Their items should still be on the rack.
  • Packing — label printed, items still going in.
  • Hold — on the hold shelf.
  • Packed — sealed, with the time and the packer’s name.
  • Short — closed with items missing; the missing numbers are crossed out.

If a number on an unpacked box is also on another label, the list says so. When both labels are for the same TikTok order, it is probably a replaced label — check which tracking number is live in your shipping software before removing either one.

The other panels

  • Not yet scanned — sold numbers with no label scanned: still on the rack, or their label has not been uploaded.
  • Uploads — every label file uploaded for this show, with how many labels were found and matched.
  • Pull list — see below.

The pull list#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

The pull list tells you which numbers to take off the rack because their orders were cancelled or never paid. It asks TikTok about the orders on the show’s linked streams.

  1. 1On the bench, press Build pull list in the Pull list panel.
  2. 2Take the numbers in red off the rack.
  3. 3Numbers under Not in the order feed — check before pulling could not be confirmed either way; check them by hand.
  4. 4Press Print for a 4×6 copy, or Refresh to check again.

A cancelled item at the bench#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

Post-show and sticker shows no longer stop for a “pull the cancels” step after the stream, so an item whose buyer cancelled after winning reaches the rack with its sticker still on. A cancelled order never gets a shipping label, and the bench is where it is caught.

  1. 1Scan the item’s sticker as usual.
  2. 2When no label on the show carries that number, LASI checks the show’s linked TikTok stream. If the sale on that sticker was cancelled, the bench flashes amber and reads Cancelled — put #64 back in inventory (on the phone, the same words in amber).
  3. 3Put the item back on its shelf. Nothing prints, and nothing else is needed.
  • For a cancel that came before the count or the close, your stock numbers are already right: a post-show count leaves cancelled orders out, and a sticker show’s close puts a cancelled sale’s units back. The bench only tells you where the item in your hand goes.
  • A sticker-show sale cancelled after the show was finalized is flagged on the show’s report, where an admin or manager takes it back with one tap.
  • A number that still has a live order behind it is not a cancel. It reads No label for #64 yet as before: its label is still to come.
  • The check needs the show’s TikTok stream linked to the show. Without a link it is never made, and the scan reads “No label yet”.
  • Each cancelled scan is kept on the bench’s record, so a manager can see it happened.

Cancelled orders stop a box#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

If TikTok cancels an order after its label reached LASI, the box must not ship. LASI marks it and the bench will not let it through: scanning it prints nothing, and Reprint, Release and Ship short refuse.

  • The card shows a red banner: Cancelled — do not ship when every order on the box was cancelled, or Order cancelled — hold this box when only part of it was.
  • The Cancelled orders panel (“Do not ship these boxes”) lists them. A whole cancelled box goes to the Returns desk, where scanning its label puts its items back in stock. A partly cancelled box waits for a manager or customer service to clear it; then it packs as normal.
  • If a cancelled box was already sealed, the panel says to take it out of the carrier bin.
  • Managers are notified once per box.

See TikTok returns and cancellations for how a cancelled box is cleared.

Ship-by deadlines#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

Each box carries TikTok’s ship-by time for its orders, read from TikTok after the labels are uploaded. When a box is close to its deadline, LASI makes sure someone sees it.

  • On the Packing list, each show shows N late and N due soon (due within a day) beside its count to pack.
  • On the bench, a strip at the top reads, for example, “Ship-by: 2 past the ship-by time · 5 due within 6 h”, followed by Pull these first: and the sticker numbers.
  • On the card, a box says Ship by …, or Past its ship-by time (…) — this one goes out first.
  • Managers get one notification when a show has boxes due within 24 hours, another within 6 hours, and another once they are late. The notification clears itself once those boxes are packed.

All packed and ending the session#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

When every box on the show is packed or shipped short, the bench says All packed once. Press End session to stop the clock, or Keep going if another label batch is still coming. If sold numbers still have no label, it says so.

You can also press End session in the session strip at any time. Everyone is clocked out and the Packing session ended summary opens: duration, items, boxes, items per hour and per minute, boxes per hour, shorts, holds, mistakes caught and idle time, then one row per packer, most items per hour first. A packer who clocked in and out several times is still one row: their clocked-in time is added up, their rates are worked out over it, and the times they clocked in are listed under them. Each idle gap is listed there too, with a Dispute button (see Disputing idle time). Next packing job → takes you back to the list of shows.

When a packer presses Clock out with an idle gap they could still dispute, a short summary of their packing opens with the same Dispute buttons. Press Done to close it. With no idle gap, clocking out asks nothing.

A session nobody ended

If a session shows no activity for 60 minutes, LASI ends it by itself — at the time of the last scan or clock-in, not at the moment it noticed. The forgotten hours never count as packing time, idle time or labor. If you come back later, press Start packing again: a show packed in several sittings still reads as one show in the stats.

Idle warnings and alerts#

The bench watches the gap since the last thing each packer did. After 3 minutes the Last pack … ago line turns amber. After 5 minutes the strip turns red and asks “No box packed for 5 min — still packing?”.

At 5 minutes, admins and managers also get one notification (in the bell and on the phone) for that gap. A packer who starts again and later stops again earns a new one. Clocking out stops it.

Idle gaps and idle minutes show on the session summary and on Packing efficiency.

Disputing idle time

Sometimes a manager calls a packer to another task and they forget to clock out. That time shows as idle and slows their pace. The packer can dispute the gap, and an admin or manager decides.

  1. 1At the end of packing — after Clock out, or in the Packing session ended summary — find the idle gap under your name. You can also do it later from Packing → My packing, under Your idle time.
  2. 2Press Dispute on the gap.
  3. 3Say what you were doing. Tap a ready answer such as “A manager called me to another task and I forgot to clock out”, or type your own.
  4. 4Press Send to a manager. The gap now reads Disputed — waiting for a manager.

Admins and managers get a notification and decide in Idle time disputes at the top of Packing efficiency, or on the gap itself in the show’s row. On the iPhone app, the notification opens the show’s packing, where the gap has Approve and Deny buttons.

DecisionWhat changes
ApproveThe gap is Excused. It leaves the packer’s idle time, and its minutes come off their clocked-in time, so their boxes and items per hour, labor and cost per item read as if they had clocked out.
DenyNothing changes. The gap stays idle time and reads Not excused. A note, if you add one, is shown to the packer.

A packer whose login is linked to their name is told the decision. A decision can be changed later with Approve instead or Deny instead. Each gap can be disputed once. A gap that is still open, on a packer who is still clocked in, cannot be disputed until they scan again or clock out.

The iPhone bench works the same way: after Clock out (only when there is a gap to dispute) and after End session, the summary lists each packer’s idle gaps with a Dispute button, and the reason is typed or picked right there. On the phone, My packing has the same Your idle time list.

Carrier handoff#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

Before the truck leaves, check your counts against the driver’s. The Carrier handoff card on the Packing page counts the day’s sealed boxes per bin, across every show.

  1. 1Open Packing.
  2. 2In Carrier handoff, choose Today, Yesterday or a date.
  3. 3Compare each bin’s count with the driver’s. Press a bin to list its boxes with tracking numbers, show, buyer and the time each was packed.
  4. 4Press Print sheet for a 4×6 handoff sheet with a line per bin for the driver’s count, then the tracking numbers by bin.
trylasi.com/pack

Labelling what a session packed#

Admins, managers, staff and hosts

Clothing packs faster than homegoods, so comparing a packer on one with a packer on the other is unfair. Give each session a label and the stats compare like with like.

  1. 1On the bench, press + Label under the session clock.
  2. 2Type what is being packed, such as Homegoods or Clothing, or pick one you used before.
  3. 3Press Save. Clear removes it.

Labels are your own words; capitals and spacing do not matter, so “clothing” and “Clothing” are one group. Admins and managers can also label a show afterwards from Packing efficiency, including sessions that have ended.

Open Packing → Efficiency to see who packs how fast. Pick 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or Custom. Rates count each packer’s clocked-in time only.

Packers are ranked by items per hour, not boxes per hour. A box can hold one item or five. Someone packing only singles can seal 150 boxes an hour, while someone packing five-piece bundles seals far fewer boxes for the same work. Every item is one sticker scanned and one thing put in a box, so items per hour compares two packers fairly. Items per minute is the same pace in smaller units. Boxes per hour is still shown beside it.

Packing efficiency: the leaderboard by packer, then every show packed.
  • Packers — fastest first by items per hour, with items per minute, items, boxes, singles and bundles, boxes per hour, minutes per box, mistakes caught, mispacks and idle gaps. A packer who ticked no item has no pace and is listed last, greyed.
  • Idle time disputes — at the top, whenever a packer has disputed idle time: who, which show, how long and their reason, with Approve and Deny. Decided in the last 30 days lists the rest.
  • Shows packed — one row per show, with its sittings added up (never the hours between them). Open a row for each packer’s own pace in that show: one row per packer, however many times they clocked in, with their time added up and the times listed under them. Their idle gaps are under them too, with any dispute. The slowest items per hour is shown in amber.
  • By category — sessions grouped by their label, with a leaderboard for each, also by items per hour.
  • Singles / bundles — the share of boxes that held one item. Bundles take longer, so a packer with many bundles reads slower.

Mistakes, mispacks and TikTok returns

ColumnWhat it counts
Mistakes caughtWrong picks the bench stopped before they went in a box (answered Go back).
MispacksReplacement requests your team filed for a wrong or missing item, traced to the packer who sealed the box.
TikTokBuyers’ own return requests with a wrong-item, missing-item or damaged reason. These are the buyer’s words and not verified, so they are kept apart from mispacks.

Admins also see Labor, Cost/box, Cost/item and Cost/min, worked out from each packer’s Homebase wage, or else the hourly rate on their staff profile. A packer typed in as “Someone else” has no rate, so their time is left uncosted rather than guessed. Managers see the pace and accuracy but never wages.

My packing#

Every packer has a page of their own: Packing → My packing on the web, or Menu → My packing on the phone. It shows your days, whether you are getting faster, and where you rank — with no costs anywhere on it.

  • Day by day — each packing day with your items per hour and the change against the day before, and what kind of item you packed.
  • Are you getting faster? — your later packing days against your earlier ones. Needs at least two packing days.
  • How you rank — your place among everyone who packed in the range, by items per hour.
  • Compare two days — pick any two days side by side.
  • Your idle time — every idle gap on your shifts, newest first, with a Dispute button for time you were called away and forgot to clock out, and what a manager decided. The phone shows the latest 8 with Show all.

Packing on the iPhone app#

The iPhone app has a packing bench too: Menu → Packing bench. The phone’s camera reads the sticker’s QR code, and the label prints on the printer that phone picked. It follows the same rules as the web bench — one label per box, a question rather than a guess when a number is on two labels, Hold, Release, Ship short, Reprint, Reset and Remove, the hold shelf, the pull list and clocking in — and keeps the screen awake while you pack. It names the packer on a sealed box and on each ticked line, the same as the web bench.

End session on the phone opens the Packing session ended summary: the session’s time, items, boxes and items per hour, then one entry per packer, most items per hour first, with their idle gaps and a Dispute button on each. Clock out opens the same summary for that packer, but only when they have a gap they could dispute. See Disputing idle time.

A phone makes a second bench cheap: a USB scanner is tied to one computer, but a phone brings its own camera. Uploading label PDFs, ticking free items by hand, and the Singles first walk are done on the web bench.

Admins and managers also see a Packing now card on the phone’s Today tab while a session runs; tap it for the show’s live progress and each packer’s numbers. See The LASI iPhone app.

Common questions#

I scanned a sticker and nothing printed.

Look at the card. A red “Printer offline” banner means the printer did not take the label — check it is on and that the PrintNode app is running on this computer, then press Retry. An amber “No printer set up” banner means this bench has no printer: press Open label, or ask an admin to set one up. If the chip at the top says “choose printer”, pick this bench’s printer first.

The label printed at the other bench.

Each computer picks its own printer from the printer chip on the bench. Press the chip on this computer and choose the printer next to you.

It says “No label for #64 yet”.

That number has no label on this show. Either its label is in a batch you have not uploaded yet, or the buyer has not paid. Check the Not yet scanned panel and the pull list. If the buyer cancelled, the bench says so instead: Cancelled — put #64 back in inventory.

It says “Cancelled — put #64 back in inventory”.

The buyer cancelled that sale on TikTok, so it has no label and does not ship. Put the item back on its shelf; your stock count already expects it there. See A cancelled item at the bench.

A box says “This label lists no item numbers”.

Upload the same label PDF again. LASI recognises the label and fills in its sticker numbers without creating a second box.

I uploaded the labels to the wrong show.

On the wrong show’s bench, scan one of the numbers (or open the box from the open chip) and press Remove label. Then upload the file on the right show. A packed box has to be Reset before it can be removed.

Who packed this box?

Open the box on the card (scan one of its numbers, or press the packed chip and pick it from the list). The status line under the checklist reads Packed 7:24 PM · Kate, and each number says who put it in the box. The name is whoever was clocked in on the bench at the time — not the login, which every bench shares.

A box says it was packed by the bench login, not a person.

Nobody was clocked in when it was packed. Press Start packing and pick a name at the start of every session; from then on each box carries the packer’s name.

Can two people pack the same show?

Yes. Each needs their own computer (or phone) and scanner, and each clocks in. A USB scanner types into whichever computer it is plugged into, so two packers cannot share one computer.

Does packing change my inventory?

No. Packing only records what went into which box. Stock moves when the show is counted and finalized.

The session shows 14 hours.

It should not any more: a session with no activity for 60 minutes ends itself at the last scan. If you left one open, the time after the last scan is not counted.

Why is the stickers PDF sideways when I print it?

Chrome’s own print window prints PDFs in portrait. Use Print on <printer> in the Print stickers dialog, or print through the system dialog with Paper Size 2 × 1 and landscape. See Printers, scanners and cameras.

I was called to another task and forgot to clock out.

Dispute the idle gap: press Dispute on it when you clock out, in the session summary, or later under Packing → My packing → Your idle time. If a manager approves it, that time comes off your clock and out of your idle time. See Disputing idle time.

The same packer is listed twice on a show.

Each packer is one row however many times they clocked in, but only when LASI can tell it is the same person. Someone picked from the list at “Who’s packing?” is always one person. A name typed under “Someone else” is matched by its spelling, so “Michael Shenbaum” picked from the list and “Michael Shebaum” typed are two people to LASI. Pick your name from the list when you clock in.

Why is the packer with the most boxes an hour not first?

Packers are ranked by items per hour. A packer on single-item boxes seals boxes much faster than one on bundles, even when both put the same number of items in boxes. Boxes per hour is still in its own column.

Why can’t I see Efficiency?

Packing efficiency shows everyone’s pace, so it is for admins and managers. Everyone who packs can open My packing.

Can two of us pack the singles at once?

Yes. Turn on Singles first once; each bench then presses its own Start. One walks from the lowest number and the other presses Start from the highest number, so you meet in the middle. See Packing the singles first.
