Logins, roles and staff records#

Everyone who signs in to LASI has their own login and one role. The role decides which pages they can open, which buttons they see, and which numbers are shown to them. There are five roles: Admin, Manager, Host, Staff and Customer service.

Separately, your business keeps staff records — the people on your payroll, with their pay. Hosts are chosen for shows from staff records, commission is paid to them, and packers clock in under them. A staff record does not need a login, and a login does not need a staff record, but a Host who logs in needs the two linked (see Linking a host’s login).

Five roles; money is the dividing line.

The first line of each is the description LASI shows when you pick a role in an invite. A business can have more than one admin, and it is a good idea to have two, so the account never depends on one person.

Which pages each role can open#

  • Admin — every page.
  • Manager — every page except Finance, Analytics, Commission, the price-calculator builder, TikTok returns settings and the Settings → Integrations pages. In Settings they see the Team, Shipping and Account groups.
  • Host — Auctions, Shipping, Packing, Calculators, Schedule, My Commission, My Streams, Scanner and Help.
  • Staff — Auctions, Shipping, Packing, Scan in inventory, Incoming, Catalog, the Returns desk, Calculators, Schedule, Scanner and Help.
  • Customer service — Returns (without the desk, analytics, mistakes, packing accuracy, order actions and settings), Replacements and Help.

Typing the address of a page a role cannot open sends that person to their own start page. The sidebar never shows a link they cannot use.

Inviting someone#

Admins and managers

trylasi.com/settings#team
Pick the role when you create the invite; the join link does the rest.
  1. 1Open Settings → Team.
  2. 2Press Invite Employee.
  3. 3Type their Email and choose a Role. Admins can give any role; managers can give Host, Staff or Customer service.
  4. 4Press Create Invite. The Invite Created box shows their join link with a Copy button. If email sending is set up for your account, it also says Invite emailed.
  5. 5Send them the link however you like — a text works.

They open the link and see Join followed by your business’s name and the role they were invited as. They enter their name and a password of at least 10 characters (their email is fixed to the one you invited) and press Create Account & Join. On a phone with the LASI app installed, Open this invite in the app joins them from the app instead.

Pending invitations

Until it is used, an invite waits under Pending Invitations in the Team card with its role, the day it was sent and when it expires. From there:

  • Copy Link copies the join link again.
  • Email Invite sends (or re-sends) it by email, when email is set up.
  • Revoke cancels it; the link stops working.

Team size and your plan#

Admins

Each plan includes a number of team members. Pending invites count toward it, so you cannot send more invites than you have seats. When you are at the limit, creating an invite says how many members and pending invites you have and which plan to move to.

To make room, revoke an unused invite, remove someone who has left, or change plan in Settings → Billing & data. An invite that was refused because the business was full still works after you upgrade. See Billing, plans and your data.

Changing someone’s role#

Admins and managers

trylasi.com/settings#team
The Team card: each login with its role, and Preview as role below it.
  1. 1Open Settings → Team.
  2. 2Find the person and pick the new role in the dropdown on their row.
  3. 3A green message confirms, for example “Kate is now Manager”. If it refuses, the dropdown snaps back and the message says why.
  • Nobody can change their own role.
  • A manager can only change Hosts, Staff and Customer service, and only between those three. Admins and managers show as a grey label to a manager.
  • To change a role, use the dropdown — re-inviting someone who is already on the team is refused.

The change takes effect on their next page load.

Removing someone#

Admins and managers

  1. 1Open Settings → Team.
  2. 2Press Remove on their row.
  3. 3Confirm with Remove in the Remove Team Member box.

They can no longer sign in to your business. Everything they recorded — shows, sales, packing — stays, and their staff record and payroll history are kept.

Staff records (Staff & Payroll)#

Admins

A staff record is a person on your payroll. It is where their pay lives, and it is what the rest of LASI points at: a show’s host is picked from staff records, commission is filed against one, packing shifts are clocked under one, and a Homebase employee is matched to one.

  1. 1Open Settings → Team and scroll to Staff & Payroll.
  2. 2Press + Add Staff.
  3. 3Fill in Name and Role — Host (streams), Worker (warehouse) or Both.
  4. 4For a Host or Both, answer How is this host paid? under Host pay. Commission asks for a Commission % — the share of a show’s net sales paid when the show files this host’s commission. Hourly, Daily wage and Per show ask for a Rate, with Also pays commission for a wage plus commission. For a Worker or Both, type the Hourly wage — their pay for packing and warehouse work.
  5. 5Press Save.

Each row says how the person is paid. Edit pay changes it; on a commission host’s row, click the commission figure (for example “1.7% commission”) to change just the rate. Remove takes the record off the list; past commission and shifts stay. How hourly, daily and per-show pay work is in How a host is paid.

Host Commission Tiers

Below the staff list, Host Commission Tiers lets you pay a higher rate on bigger shows: a sales range and the rate for it, for example $0 to $2,000 at 2%, $2,000 and up at 3%. Press Edit, + Add Tier for each rung (leave the top one’s upper box as No cap), then Save Tiers. With no tiers, each host earns their own commission rate. Tiers for one particular host or channel are set on the phone, under Commission → Commission settings. See Hosts, co-hosts and commission.

Preview as role#

Admins

Before giving someone a login, you can see LASI exactly as they will: the same pages, the same hidden numbers, the same blocked buttons.

  1. 1Open Settings → Team.
  2. 2Under Preview as role, press Manager, Host, Staff or Customer service.
  3. 3LASI reloads on that role’s start page, with a dark pill at the bottom of the screen: Viewing as and the role.
  4. 4Press Exit preview on the pill to go back to your own view.
trylasi.com/inventory
While previewing, a floating pill says which role you are seeing and takes you back.

What customer service can see#

The Customer service role exists because returns and replacement requests carry a buyer’s name, full address and phone number. Those are opened by the people whose job it is, not by every login.

  • They sign in to the Returns inbox and can decide returns and cancellations. A refund above your customer service limit waits for an admin (set it in Settings → Integrations → TikTok returns).
  • They file Replacements, add photos and withdraw their own requests. A manager or admin approves or denies them.
  • They get notifications about new return requests and about their own replacement requests.
  • They cannot open shows, inventory, packing, costs, sales totals or settings.

Hosts and staff, in turn, cannot open replacement requests. See TikTok returns and Replacement requests.

Why a page or a number is hidden#

LASI hides things by role on purpose, and it does it at every level: the sidebar, the page, and the data itself. So a hidden figure is not merely covered up on screen — it never reaches that person’s device.

  • A menu item is missing — the role cannot open that page.
  • You were sent back to your start page — you followed a link to a page your role cannot open.
  • A cost, profit or margin shows as a dash — your role does not see costs. Managers see which box or service is cheapest, but not its price.
  • A button is missing — the action belongs to another role, for example deleting a show (admins and managers) or deciding commission (admins).
  • Everything is read-only with a banner — the business’s trial has not started or its subscription has ended; it is not about your role.

Every accountable action — removing a member, deleting or finalizing a show, changing the timezone, exporting data — is recorded in the audit log under Settings → Billing & data, which admins can read and nobody can edit.

Common questions#

My host cannot finalize their own show.

Their login is not linked to their staff record, or the show’s host is a different record. Link them in Settings → Team (the dropdown on their row), and check the show’s host is them.

My host’s commission page is empty.

Commission appears once a show they hosted is finalized with commission on. If shows have been finalized, the login is probably not linked to their staff record.

The invite link says Invalid Invite.

It has expired (links last 7 days), was revoked, or was already used. Create a new invite.

Someone joined with the wrong email.

The invite only works for the email it was sent to. Revoke it and invite the right address. If they are signed in as someone else, the join page offers Sign out to continue.

Can a manager see profit?

No. Managers see revenue and every operational screen, but not costs, profit, expenses, payroll or the Finance page.

Can a host see other hosts’ numbers?

No. A host sees their own shows’ revenue and their own commission. On a shared show they see the show’s total and their own share.

Can I give one person two roles?

A login has one role. Pick the one that covers the most they need; an admin can do everything.

What happens to a show when its host leaves?

Nothing is lost. Remove the login; the staff record, the show and the commission already filed all stay.

Can I invite people on the phone?

Yes, from Menu → Team, where you can also tap a member to change their role or remove them. Staff records, commission tiers, the host link and Preview as role are on the web.
