What a sticker show is#

A sticker show is for items you can scan: a product’s own barcode (its UPC) or a LASI unit label. On the New show page it is the answer SKU live — scan to sell.

The scan works for both kinds of stock. An item tracked one unit at a time (see The catalog and scanning stock in) sells that exact unit. A product kept in a bin — fifty of one throw blanket in one row — sells one unit out of its bin, at that unit’s real cost, as long as the product is linked to its bin in the Catalog (see Linking products to bins). Both kinds can go into the same sale.

As each item sells, a helper sticks the next numbered sticker on it and scans two things: the sticker, then the item’s barcode. The sticker names the sale; the barcode says which item left. Because the sticker number is the same number TikTok puts on the order, LASI pairs every sale with its order by name, so each sale shows its price while the show is still running.

There is no staging and no count afterwards. The show is live from the moment you create it, the scans are the record of what sold, and at the end you settle anything the pairing turned up and finalize.

The sticker number is the TikTok SKU#

Your auction listing numbers its items: #1, #2, #3 and so on. On each TikTok order, that number is the line’s SKU. A LASI sticker carries the same number, plus a QR code naming this show.

One barcoded item

One number on the sticker, the order and the sale.
  • When a show runs several listings that each number from 1 (rounds), each round has a tag taken from the listing title: “A) …” is A, “PART 2 - …” is P2, “ROUND 3 - …” is R3. A sticker then reads A-64.
  • Typing a tagged number by hand needs the dash: P2-64, not P264.
  • A number never sells twice. If #64 goes unpaid, the next item is #65.
  • A sticker from another night is refused: “That sticker belongs to another show.”

Create a sticker show#

  1. 1On Auctions, click New Show (phone: Shows tab → New).
  2. 2Under When are you recording sales?, choose SKU live — scan to sell.
  3. 3Fill in the rest (name, date, platform, shop, host) as for any show. See Create a show.
  4. 4Click Create and go live. The selling screen opens straight away. On the web it is a dark, full-screen page; on the phone it is a camera screen.

You can also start one from Scanner → SKU Live Auction on the web.

Step 3: scan the sticker, then the item#

The sticker selling screen on the web.

Every scan does one thing, and nothing moves on until another sticker is scanned:

  • A sticker opens a sale. The screen lights up green and reads “Sticker #A-64. Now scan the item.”, with the number large.
  • An item joins the open sale. Scan one item, or five for a bundle: they all join the same sale. There is no Bundle button.
  • The next sticker moves on. Scanning #65 closes #64 and opens #65.
  • An item with no sale open is refused: “Scan the number sticker first, then the item.”
  • A sticker walked away from with no item is kept and named: “#64 has no item in it. Scan its sticker again to fill it, or void it.”

On a computer, scan with a handheld barcode scanner — it works wherever you have clicked, with the camera on or off. If you are on a laptop with no scanner, Use the camera turns it on. You can also type into the box (“Sticker (64 or A-64) or item barcode…”) and press Scan or Enter. Scans are sent in the order they happened; if the connection drops they wait and send in order when it is back.

The four colours of the selling screen and what each one means.

The top of the screen is two large blocks, and they stay there while you scroll the sales list. The left one says what the last scan did. The right one says where the next item goes.

What you seeWhat it means
The whole screen lights up green, with a check mark and the sale’s number large (“Scanned #A-64”)The scan was recorded. The item’s name is under the number.
The whole screen lights up red, with a cross and Not recordedThe scan was refused and nothing was added. The code you scanned and the reason are printed with it. The panel stays red until the next scan.
A grey panel reading Sending with the codeThe scan is on its way. The answer follows in a moment.
The screen stays amber: Bundle openEvery item you scan now joins that bundle. See Bundles in a row.
The screen stays blue: Bundle #A-66 closed · next bundleNo bundle is open. The next item you scan starts a new one.
The screen is darkSingles: each item is a sale of its own.

Before any scan the left block reads “Ready. Scan a sticker to start a sale.” The right block always carries a number to check the sticker in your hand against: “Next item goes on #A-65”, “Scan the item for #A-64”, or the open bundle’s number with how many items are in it.

A refused scan stays on the screen. Under the two blocks a red strip lists every scan that was not recorded (“1 scan not recorded”, the code, the reason), and it stays there after the next scan goes through, so a green result for the item after it cannot hide it. It goes when you tap Clear, when the same code is scanned again and recorded, or after two minutes.

Each result has a sound of its own on the web: one beep for a new sale, two rising beeps for an item that joined the open sale, and a low double buzz for a scan that was not recorded. The phone buzzes instead: once for a new sale, once and a tap for an item that joined, twice hard for a refusal.

The open sale’s card sits right under the two blocks, so what is in the sale is never off the screen; the unit that just went in lights up green for a moment. Above the sales list, Find # filters the list to a number as you type; a single match opens that sale’s edit panel.

The camera choice is remembered on that device: a laptop that turned it on once opens with it on next time, and one that turned it off stays off. On a phone or tablet the screen stays awake while this page is in front, so it never dims mid-show.

The sales list is in sticker order, highest number first, so a sale scanned out of turn sits in its place rather than at the top; the open sale’s card above the list is where the sale you are on lives. The phone’s Sales list is ordered the same way.

Selling by sticker

Selling by sticker on the iPhone app.

The phone works the same way with its camera, and shows the same two blocks at the top: the last scan’s result, and the number the next item takes. The whole screen lights up green or red, and the bundle colours lie over the camera view. The bottom bar has Undo, Sales (the list of sales, where you edit one), Type and End show. A handheld scanner paired to the phone works even before the camera is allowed. Two helpers can scan the same show from two devices: each has its own open sale. If the phone is signed out mid-show, the scans already made are kept in their queue and send once you sign in again; a scan LASI does not answer within 20 seconds is retried under the same key, never sent twice.

Things that get refused

MessageWhat it means
“LASI does not know that barcode. Scan it into inventory first.”The item was never scanned into LASI. Add it through scan-in, then scan it again.
“That item is already in sale #…”This exact item is already in another sale on this show.
“No unit of that product is available…”Every unit of that product has sold or is already in a sale, and it has no bin with stock. If it lives in a bin, link the product to its bin in the Catalog.
“<bin> is empty. Restock it to sell more of this.”The product’s bin has run out. Restock the bin (see Inventory), then scan again.
“That sticker belongs to another show.”A leftover sticker from another night. Use this show’s roll.
“#74143 is not one of this show’s stickers (printed: A-1–A-300) and not a known barcode.”The scanner read part of an item’s barcode, or a number was typed without its round. Nothing was recorded and the open sale stands. Scan the sticker’s own code, or the item’s full barcode again.
“No sticker #A-4167 was printed for this show.”That number is past every roll printed. Print the next range from the roll card first.

One item per sale: skip the sticker scan#

Anyone scanning; the setting is per device

A show that sells one item at a time, with only the occasional bundle, does not need a sticker scan for every item. Turn on One item per sale on the selling screen (the switch above the scan box on the web; the chip above the buttons on the phone) and each item scan moves to the next sticker number by itself.

  1. 1Scan the first sticker, then its item, as usual. That sets where the roll is.
  2. 2From then on, just scan items. Each one opens the next number (#A-65, #A-66, …) and lands in it; put that sticker on the item. The block on the right (“Next item goes on”) shows the number the next item will take, large, so you can check it against the sticker in your hand before you scan.
  3. 3Skipped or lost a sticker? Scan the sticker you are actually using. A sticker scan always sets the number.

Bundles in a row

Bundles usually come in runs, so they are a mode you switch on once, not a button per bundle.

  1. 1Tap Start bundles (web: the middle button of the bottom bar; phone: the chip beside One item per sale). The screen turns blue: bundles are on and none is open yet. Back to singles appears beside the line that says so.
  2. 2Scan every item in the first bundle. The first one opens the next number (“Bundle started”) and the screen turns amber: Bundle open, with its number and how many items are in it. The rest join it (“Added to bundle”, “3 items”).
  3. 3Tap Next sale when that bundle is complete. The screen turns blue and reads “Bundle #A-66 closed · next bundle #A-67”. The next item you scan starts that bundle and the screen turns amber again. Repeat: scan the bundle’s items, tap Next sale.
  4. 4When the run of bundles is over, tap Back to singles. The screen goes dark again and each item moves to the next number on its own.

With One item per sale off, a sale stays open until you scan the next sticker. The second item you scan into it makes it a bundle, and the screen turns amber to say so (“Added to bundle”, “2 items”). If you meant that item for a new sale, tap Undo, scan the next sticker, then the item.

You can scan ahead of the screen: a Next sale tapped while scans are still sending falls between the right two items. Tapping Start bundles right after scanning a sticker (or Add an item on a sale) makes that sale the first bundle, and the screen goes amber at once. Scanning a sticker while bundles are on names the bundle the next items join. On the web, reloading the page keeps bundles on, and the bundle you were filling.

LASI refuses to move on to a number that already has items in it (“#A-70 already has 2 items. Scan the sticker you are using”), because that means the numbers have drifted from the roll; scanning the sticker puts it right. Two helpers scanning one show this way should use two rounds (A and B) so their numbers cannot collide. The setting stays on for that device until you turn it off, and it changes nothing about how sales pair with TikTok orders.

Bulk sale: a pile of one item, no stickers#

Anyone scanning; web selling screen only for now

Some items sell by the dozen and fast — bamboo pillows, lavender blankets — and nobody puts a sticker on each one. Instead of sticking each sold number on a sheet of paper for the packers, tell LASI which item it is and which numbers it sold under. Each number becomes its own sale with one of that item in it, taken from your stock, exactly as if you had scanned the sticker and then the item.

  1. 1On the selling screen, under One item per sale, press Start beside Bulk sale. The screen turns violet: in bulk mode, a sticker scan sells that number as the bulk item.
  2. 2Pick the item. Scan any one of them with the scanner (its barcode picks it; nothing is sold by that scan), or type its name in the search box and tap it. With nothing typed, the list shows the items this show has already sold. An item that comes in sizes asks which size is selling.
  3. 3Mark the numbers. Either scan each sticker as the item sells — no item scan after it, and the sticker can go in the bin — or, once the run is over, type it under The numbers: From opens on the number after the last sale (change it if you need to), type the last number in To, and press Mark 11 sold.
  4. 4Press Done (or Back to selling in the bottom bar) when the run is over. The screen goes back to its usual colour and scanning works as before.
  • It is all or nothing. If there is not enough of the item in stock for the whole run, nothing is marked and LASI says how many are left. If a number in the run already holds another item, or its order was cancelled, nothing is marked and LASI names the number; Skip those and mark the rest marks the others.
  • A number already sold as this item is left as it is, so scanning a sticker twice or pressing Mark again does no harm.
  • With One item per sale on, the next item you scan after a run takes the number after it.
  • Each bulk sale is in the Sales list with a Bulk tag and pairs with its TikTok order by number like any other sale. Change or void one there as usual. If you take its item out and scan something else into it, it is an ordinary sale again: the tag goes, and the packers look for that number on the rack.
  • Bulk runs on this show lists each run (“Bamboo pillow · #220–230 · 11”) with Undo, which voids those sales and puts the items back in stock. A sale in the run whose order TikTok cancelled is kept, as the record of the cancel. Undo in the bottom bar takes back the last run or bulk sticker.
  • Scanning stickers in bulk mode: if one is refused (that number already holds another item, or the item ran out), the screen says which, and the stickers scanned after it still go through.

Going back: editing a sale mid-show#

Mistakes happen at speed. Every fix is one of these:

  • Undo takes the last item you scanned back out of its sale. If the last scan was a sticker and nothing went into it, Undo voids that empty sale so the sticker is free again; if it reopened an earlier sale, Undo just closes it.
  • Scan an earlier sticker to reopen that sale: “Back on #64. Scan to add, or edit it below.” Then scan the item you forgot.
  • Tap a sale in the Sales list (phone: open Sales) to see its buyer and items, and: Remove an item, Add an item (reopens it), Void sale… (it asks first; its items go back on the shelf), or type a number under Wrong sticker? New number and press Change number (or Enter) when the wrong sticker went on. If that number is a sticker scanned by accident with nothing in it, the move takes it over.
  • Close sale leaves no sale open, so a stray item scan is refused rather than added.
  • The Sales list shows the newest 30; Show all opens the whole show. The open sale is tinted green in it.

Two helpers on two devices each have their own open sale. If one voids the sale the other has open, that screen says so (“#64 was voided on another device”) and asks for a sticker before the next item. Reloading the page mid-show brings you back on the sale you had open.

What the screen tells you while the show runs#

Once the LIVE is linked, LASI checks TikTok’s orders every half minute and pairs each sale by its number. Each sale in the list shows where it stands:

Chip on a saleMeaning
A price (or paid)The order for this number is paid.
unpaid on TikTokThe buyer won it and has not paid yet. TikTok gives them a payment window and cancels the order itself if it lapses. The price shows, but it is not counted as sold until they pay.
waiting on checkoutScanned; TikTok has no order for this number yet. Buyers check out after the hammer, so this is normal for a few minutes. It turns amber after 5 minutes.
cancelledThe buyer cancelled. The item will go back on the shelf at the close.
no item yetA sticker was scanned with no item in it.
two ordersTwo orders carry this number, usually a mis-keyed listing. You choose which at the close.
no stream linkedLink the LIVE to see prices.

The two honest gaps

  • Sold on TikTok, not scanned (red): TikTok sold these numbers but nobody scanned them. Scan that sticker, then its item.
  • Scanned, no order after 5 min and Sticker with no item (amber): worth a look before the show ends.

Money, by role

  • Admins see Sales, Profit so far and Margin. Profit is sales less TikTok’s estimated fee (on the items plus the shipping buyers paid) less what each scanned item cost.
  • Managers, and a host on their own show, see Sales, Paid and Cancelled.
  • Staff see each sale’s state (paid, cancelled and so on) without prices or totals.
  • An item with no cost entered is left out of profit, and the screen says how many.
  • With no linked stream there are no money figures at all, never a $0.

An item whose order cancelled can sell again#

If a buyer cancels mid-show, you can put the item straight back up. Scan a new sticker and then the same item. LASI asks TikTok about the earlier sale, and if its order really is cancelled it releases the item into the new sale: “Sold again: taken back from cancelled #64.”

Only a cancel TikTok has reported releases an item. If the earlier order is paid, or TikTok has not said it is cancelled yet, the scan is refused and names the sale holding the item. Remove it there, or try again in a minute.

  3. 3Scanning stops and the close opens: the giveaways and finalize. There is no count on a sticker show, and no “pull the cancels” step.

A sale whose buyer cancelled needs nothing from you here: the close puts its items back in stock. The item itself is still on the rack with its sticker, and the packing bench catches it: scanning that sticker reads Cancelled — put #64 back in inventory. See A cancelled item at the bench.

Settling the show and finalizing#

Admins, managers, and the show’s own host finalize

The close screen opens at once with the sales, then reads TikTok’s orders and says so (“Reading TikTok’s orders…”, then “TikTok checked 40 s ago”). Check TikTok again re-reads them; it is greyed while a read is running, and after the first read of a show only what changed on TikTok is fetched, so a check takes a second or two. It says “Show ended. Mark the giveaways, then finalize.” On the web it is the show’s page from Auctions; on the phone it opens straight after End show. On both show lists the badge names the step the show is on: Giveaways & finalize (the phone says Finalize), then Final. If no LIVE was linked during the show, the close lists the day’s streams so you can pick it here. While TikTok cannot be reached the settle list is held back, so nothing is voided on the strength of a wobble.

To settle before finalizing

  • Sold on TikTok, never scanned: TikTok sold the number, but no item was scanned for it. Click Scan it in and scan or type the item’s barcode, then Add. If the item was not LASI stock, tick Close the show without these items instead; their sales will not be in this show’s profit.
  • no order on TikTok: a scanned sale with no order. Usually a mistake: Void it puts the item back on the shelf.
  • #A-227 has this number’s order: the number was opened twice and TikTok sold it once, so the order is on the other sale and there is none left for this one. If the item here is the one that sold, void the sale named and this one takes the order on the next check; otherwise void this one and its item goes back on the shelf.
  • won on TikTok, not paid yet: the buyer has not paid. Click Check TikTok again later; TikTok cancels an unpaid order itself when the window lapses. Void it only if it really did not sell.
  • empty: a sticker with no item. Scan its item in, or Void it. When several are empty (stray numbers opened them), Void all empty clears them in one go; nothing is in them, so no stock moves.
  • two orders carry this number: pick the right buyer from the buttons shown.

When the Chrome extension’s sale snapshots are switched on, an unscanned row shows a small picture of the LIVE at that number, so you can see what the item was. See The LASI Chrome extension.

Giveaways

A free item has no sticker, so mark each one that was given away in the Giveaways card. Type the item’s name or code and press Add beside it, pick it from the list of what this show sold (the list shows with nothing typed), or scan its barcode (phone: Or scan a giveaway). Each Add takes the next unit of that product on the shelf, or one unit out of its bin. The card counts them against TikTok’s free orders (“4 marked of 4 on TikTok”). Each leaves stock at its cost — a bin unit at the cost of the oldest units in the bin, like a sale — and shows on the report as a giveaway. Remove takes one back. If a giveaway could not be recorded at finalize (its unit sold since it was marked, or its bin was empty), the screen says how many right after finalizing, so the report’s count and the ledger cannot silently differ.

Finalize

  1. 1When the show has a host, admins see File the host’s commission. Untick it if this show should not pay commission.
  2. 2Click Finalize N sales…, read the summary (sold, cancelled, giveaways, anything closed without, the host’s commission) and confirm. While anything is unsettled the card says exactly what: the sales listed above, unscanned numbers neither scanned in nor acknowledged, no LIVE linked, or TikTok not answering. Only an admin, a manager or the show’s own host sees the button; the giveaways a helper marked are kept on that browser for them.
  3. 3Paid sales become sold, cancelled sales put their items back in stock, and the show’s sales reach your reports. TikTok’s fee is charged on the sold orders’ prices plus the shipping their buyers paid — not the whole stream’s shipping. The button says which step it is on (matching the orders, then writing the sales), and if the reply is lost on the way back it checks the show before reporting a failure. The show report opens.

From then on, tapping the show on the phone’s Shows tab (or clicking it on Auctions) opens that report: the profit card, the stream, the hosts, and What sold best — every product the show sold, best seller first, with its units, sales, average price and, for admins, its profit. A sticker show is the one show that can say this product by product, because every scan named the item.

More on what finalizing writes, and on the show report, is in Finalizing, show reports and fixing a show.

How a bundle’s price is divided#

A sale holding several items has one price on TikTok. LASI divides it between the items by what each item cost, to the cent. For example, $60 over items that cost $10, $20 and $30 is $10, $20 and $30. The fee is divided the same way.

Each item’s share shows beside it in the sales list at the close. This split applies to sticker sales only; older bundles keep the even split they were recorded with.

Older SKU live shows (the scan-order flow)#

Before stickers, a SKU live show matched sales to orders by position: the first scan was the first order, the second scan the second order, and so on. Shows that already ran that way still open on their original screens, with the order CSV or TikTok pull, the drift-repair tools and their own finalize.

You do not choose between the two: LASI opens each show the way it was run. Every new SKU live show sells by sticker.

Common questions#

Do I need a label printer for stickers?

You need some way to print numbered 2×1 stickers. LASI prints the roll as a PDF or straight to a label printer. See Printers, scanners and cameras.

I scanned the item before the sticker.

It was refused (“Scan the number sticker first, then the item”), so nothing was recorded. Scan the sticker, then the item again.

The beep stopped, or a scan says my sign-in expired.

The screen still says what each scan did in the large block at the top, and lights up green or red. If it says your sign-in expired, reload the page and sign in again, then scan that item once more — nothing was recorded for it.

The screen went red. What do I do?

That scan was not recorded. Read the reason under Not recorded, fix it, and scan again. With One item per sale on, the number did not move on: the next item you scan takes the number shown on the right. If you have already put a sticker on the item that was refused, scan the sticker you are using next before its item, so the numbers stay with the roll.

I scanned an item and the screen stayed amber. Where did it go?

Into the bundle that is open. The result reads “Added to bundle” with the bundle’s number. If it belongs in a new sale, tap Undo, tap Next sale, and scan it again.

Can I turn the green and red flash off?

No. If your device is set to reduce motion, the wash over the whole screen is replaced by a coloured frame around it; the result panel keeps its colour either way.

I put the wrong sticker on an item.

Tap the sale in the Sales list, type the right number under Wrong sticker? New number and press Change number.

Prices are not showing on my sales.

The LIVE is not linked, or the buyer has not checked out yet. Link the stream on the selling screen; prices arrive within about half a minute of checkout.

A number sold on TikTok but I never scanned it.

Scan that number’s sticker, then its item, during the show, or use Scan it in on the close screen. If it was not LASI stock, tick the box to close the show without it.

Why can’t I finalize?

Something is still listed under “To settle before finalizing”, unscanned sales have not been scanned in or acknowledged, no LIVE is linked, or TikTok did not answer. The finalize card names each reason.

Can I use a CSV instead of linking the LIVE?

No. Sticker shows pair sales with TikTok’s orders by number, which needs the order feed. Connect TikTok and link the stream.

Can two people scan at once?

Yes. Each device has its own open sale, so two helpers can sell different items on the same show.

We sell a pile of the same item and never sticker them. What do I scan?

Use Bulk sale: pick the item once, then scan each sticker as it sells or type the run of numbers when it is over. See Bulk sale.

A buyer cancelled mid-show. Can I sell the item again?

Yes. Scan a new sticker and the same item. Once TikTok reports the cancel, LASI moves the item to the new sale.
