What a show is#

A show is one auction you run: usually one TikTok LIVE stream, on one day, with one host. LASI calls the list of them Auctions (in the sidebar), and a show is also called an auction on some screens. They are the same thing.

A show ties together everything that happened around that stream: which stock left the shelf, what sold and for how much, the TikTok orders it made, the host who ran it, the shipping buyers paid, and in the end its profit. Until a show is finalized, none of its sales are in your reports. Finalizing is covered in Finalizing, show reports and fixing a show.

There are three ways to run a show, because sellers work in three different ways. You pick one when you create the show, and the screens that follow are built for that way of working. The next section helps you choose.

The show types, and how to choose#

On the New show page the question is When are you recording sales? Each answer is a different flow.

Show typeThe answer on New showWhen you record salesBest for
Post-show countAfter the showAfter the stream: you count how many units left each bin and confirm. TikTok’s orders supply the prices. Most sellers. Selling out of bins of interchangeable items, often one bin a night. See The post-show flow.
StagedStage first, sell liveBefore and after: you count what goes onto the set, and after the stream you count what came back. Sold = staged − came back.Sellers who wheel several bins onto the set and want a before-and-after count. See The staged flow.
Sticker show (SKU live)SKU live — scan to sellDuring the stream: each sale gets a numbered sticker, and a helper scans the sticker then the item’s barcode.Barcoded, one-of-a-kind items (each unit has its own LASI barcode). See Sticker shows.
Live sell (older)Not offeredDuring the stream, typed in one sale at a time.Kept only so older shows still open. New shows cannot be created this way from the New show page.
?Do you count stock onto the set before the stream?
Yes
Staged

Count what goes on the set, and what comes back. Sold = staged − came back.

On New show: Stage first, sell live

If no
?Does every item carry its own barcode and get a numbered sticker as it sells?
Yes
Sticker show (SKU live)

A helper scans the sticker, then the item, during the stream.

On New show: SKU live — scan to sell

If no
Post-show countMost common

After the stream, count how many units left each bin. TikTok’s orders supply the prices.

On New show: After the show

Which show type fits the way you sell.

A quick rule of thumb

  • You sell out of bins (pallets) and just want to know how many left: After the show.
  • You physically load several bins onto the set and count them back afterwards: Stage first, sell live.
  • Every item is its own barcoded unit and you stick a number on each one as it sells: SKU live — scan to sell.

Create a show#

Everyone who runs shows (admins, managers, hosts and staff)

On the web, open Auctions and click New Show at the top right. On the iPhone app, open the Shows tab and tap New. Both open the same form, in the same order.

  1. 1Name. Type a name, or leave it empty and LASI names it after the date, for example “Tue, Sep 22 show”.
  2. 2Show date. Today by default. Pick another day if you are entering a show that already happened. The show and all its sales are dated to that business day.
  3. 3When are you recording sales? Pick Stage first, sell live, After the show or SKU live — scan to sell (see the show types).
  4. 4Platform. TikTok or Whatnot. Most of LASI’s automatic features (stream linking, pulling sales, catching cancelled orders) work with TikTok only.
  5. 5TikTok Shop. Pick which of your TikTok shop accounts this show runs on, or No shop. Admins can add a shop here with Add a shop.
  6. 6Host (admins and managers only). Pick who opens the show, or No host. See picking the host.
  7. 7Include host in commission? (admins only, once a host is picked). Yes files the host’s commission automatically when the show is finalized.
  8. 8Shipping template (web only). How this show’s boxes are bundled, weighed and boxed, or Choose later. See the shipping template.
  9. 9Notes (optional). Anything useful, for example “Evening shoe auction”.
  10. 10Click the button at the bottom. It says what happens next: Create and stage the set, Create and enter sales or Create and go live.

Where you land depends on the type: a staged show opens its staging screen, a post-show count opens its counting board, and a sticker show starts selling straight away (it is live from the moment it is created).

Picking the host when you create a show#

Admins and managers

The Host list shows everyone marked as a host in Settings → Team → Staff & Payroll, followed by other staff (labelled Worker). Admins also see each host’s commission rate beside their name; managers see only “Host”.

  • Only admins and managers can choose or change a show’s host. Hosts and staff creating a show do not see the question at all; an admin or manager adds the host later.
  • Pick the host who opens the show. If someone takes over partway through, record the switch on the show’s board rather than changing the host. See Hosts, co-hosts and commission.
  • No host means nobody is paid commission for this show, and the commission question is hidden.
  • Include host in commission? is an admin decision. Yes files the host’s commission to the Commission Tracker when the show is finalized, at their rate from Settings → Team → Staff & Payroll.
  • The Manage staff link under the list takes you to Settings → Team.

The shipping template and the TikTok shop#

A shipping template tells LASI how to weigh and box the show’s orders when it buys labels. It is optional when you create a show: Choose later is fine, but a show’s boxes wait for a template before labels can be bought. A single stream or round inside the show can use a different template. Templates are made in Settings → Shipping; see Shipping templates, labels and the shipping queue.

If you have no templates yet and you can manage shipping (admins and managers), a Create a shipping template link appears under the list. The iPhone app’s New show screen does not ask for a template; pick it later on the web.

The TikTok Shop is the name of the shop account you stream on. It is how Sales and the Orders page tell your channels apart. The list comes from Settings → Shows → TikTok Shops. Only admins can add a shop, either there or with Add a shop on the form.

The Auctions page#

Open Auctions in the sidebar. Every show is listed newest first, grouped under a heading per business day (Today, Yesterday, then the day’s name) with a count of shows that day. Show older shows at the bottom reaches further back.

trylasi.com/auctions
The Auctions page: filters, search, day headings, one row per show.

What a row shows

  • The name, and under it the time it started, the flow (Staged, Post-show, SKU live or Live sell) and the platform.
  • Host: the host’s name, Shared when several hosts ran it, No host, or an amber Link host / “· no commission” when an admin needs to fix commission.
  • Shipping (admins and managers): for an admin, the shipping margin (what buyers paid minus what the labels cost) or an amber Add label bill; for a manager, what buyers paid.
  • Status: where the show stands (see show statuses).
  • The button: Continue for a show still running, Close out for one that ended but was never finalized, View for a finished one. Clicking anywhere on the row does the same.

Filters and search

  • All, Active (not finished, or finished but never closed out), Needs attention and Completed. Each shows how many shows it holds.
  • Needs attention only lists what you can fix: a show waiting to be closed out or counted, a show missing its host commission (admins), or a show missing its label bill (admins).
  • Search by show or host filters the list by name.

A finished show whose sales are priced opens its show report (how the auction did, in depth) for admins, managers and the show’s own host. Staff open the show’s own screen instead.

Everything you can do to a show (the ⋯ menu)#

Each row has a ⋯ button on the right. Its menu holds every action for that show. You only see the items your role can use.

The same actions are on the iPhone app: long-press a show on the Shows tab.

Next to the list, Schedule (admins and managers) queues the work of building a show’s listings in TikTok Seller Center. See Scheduling listings.

Fixing the date or the host after the fact#

Change date

  1. 1On Auctions, open the show’s ⋯ menu and choose Change date.
  2. 2Pick the New date.
  3. 3Click Move Show. LASI tells you how many recorded sales moved with it.

Use it when a show was entered on the wrong day, for example a Friday night show counted on Saturday morning. Everything that belongs to the show moves together, so your daily reports stay right.

Link host or Change host

  1. 1Open the show’s ⋯ menu and choose Link host (or Change host if one is already set).
  2. 2Pick the Host. Optionally type a Commission % for this show only; leave it empty to use the host’s tiers or default rate.
  3. 3Each host in the list shows how they are paid (a commission rate, or a wage such as $200.00 per show). Click Link & File Pay on a finalized show, or Save Host on one that is still open. On an open show, their pay files when you finalize.

Printing a show’s number stickers#

Admins, managers, hosts and staff

Many sellers put a numbered sticker on each item as it sells. The number is the same number TikTok puts on the order, so at packing time scanning the sticker brings up the right shipping label. Sticker shows depend on it; the other flows can use it for packing.

  1. 1On Auctions, open the show’s ⋯ menu and choose Print stickers.
  2. 2Set From and To, for example 1 to 200. At most 1,000 per roll.
  3. 3Leave Listing tag empty unless one show runs several listings that each number from 1. Then print one roll per listing, tagged A, B and so on.
  4. 4If you have more than one printer set up, pick the Printer for stickers (the one loaded with 2×1 sticker stock). This is remembered on this computer.
  5. 5Click Print on your printer to send the roll straight to it, or Open PDF to print it yourself.

Ran out mid-show? Print the next range. Each sticker carries a QR code naming this show, so a leftover sticker from another night is refused when scanned.

Show statuses#

The status pill says where a show is and what it is waiting for. The phone uses shorter words for some of them.

Status on the webOn the phoneWhat it means
StagingStagingA staged show before it goes live: you are loading the set.
Entering salesEnter salesA post-show count that has not been confirmed yet. The counting board and the count screen are open.
LiveLiveA staged show on air, or a sticker show selling.
ReconcilingNeeds countA staged show that ended and needs its count-back.
Not finalizedNot finalizedA staged show counted back, or a post-show count confirmed, whose sales are not recorded yet. It needs its sales pulled from TikTok and finalizing, or, for an old show whose sales came in another way, closing out.
Giveaways & finalizeFinalizeA sticker show that has ended; the giveaways and finalize are left. There is no CSV in this flow.
CompletedFinalFinished: the show is finalized and its sales are in your reports.
Closed outClosed outMarked done without finalizing, because its sales were recorded another way. See Closing out an old show.

Deleting a show#

Admins and managers

  1. 1On Auctions, open the show’s ⋯ menu and choose Delete show.
  2. 2Check the platform, status and date in the Delete Auction box.
  3. 3Click Delete Auction.

Deleting unwinds the show: staged items go back to available inventory, units that sold go back into their bins at the cost they left at, giveaways are reversed, and the show’s sales records are deleted. It cannot be undone.

Common questions#

I picked the wrong show type. Can I change it?

No. The type decides which screens a show has. Delete the show (nothing has moved if you have not confirmed or reconciled it yet) and create a new one with the right answer.

Why can’t I see the Host question on New show?

Only admins and managers choose a show’s host. Create the show and ask an admin or manager to set the host from the Auctions page, the show’s board or the Hosts dialog.

Where did “Live sell” go?

It is an older way of running a show, kept so old shows still open. New shows are created as a post-show count, a staged show or a sticker show.

Why doesn’t my show have any gross sales or orders on it?

No TikTok stream is linked to it. LASI never matches streams by time. Link it from the show’s board or the phone’s Today tab.

My stream crashed and I went live again. Is that two shows?

No. It is one show with two streams. Link both streams to the same show.

Why is my show under “Needs attention”?

It is waiting on something you can fix: it ended but was never closed out, it needs its count, it is missing host commission, or it is missing its label bill.

I entered a show on the wrong day. Do I need to re-enter it?

No. Use Change date in the show’s ⋯ menu. The whole show moves, including its sales and any commission.

Why does the Shipping column say “Add label bill”?

Buyers paid shipping on that show, but the cost of the labels was never entered, so its shipping profit is unknown. Click it and type what you paid. Shows whose labels were bought through TikTok fill this in by themselves.

Can I create shows on the phone?

Yes. On the Shows tab, tap New. The phone asks the same questions except the shipping template, which you can set on the web later.

Does deleting a show delete my inventory?

No. It puts stock back. Staged and sold units return to their bins or to available.
