Before you start#
This chapter is the order to do things in on your first day. Each step is short and links to the chapter that covers it in depth. You can stop after any step and come back; nothing here has to be finished in one sitting.
You will need: the email address you want to own the account, a card for the free trial, access to your TikTok Shop Seller Center login, and a list of the people who will use LASI with the role each one gets.
| Step | Where | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Create your account | The sign-up page | 2 minutes |
| 2. Start your free trial | Settings → Billing & data | 3 minutes |
| 3. Name and timezone | Settings → Business | 1 minute |
| 4. Connect TikTok Shop | Settings → Integrations → TikTok Shop | 3 minutes |
| 5. Name your shop accounts | Settings → Shows → TikTok Shops | 1 minute |
| 6. Check your TikTok fee | Settings → Business → TikTok Fees | 2 minutes |
| 7. Add staff records | Settings → Team → Staff & Payroll | 5 minutes |
| 8. Invite your team | Settings → Team → Invite Employee | 5 minutes |
| 9. Phones, printers, scanners, extension | Several places | 30 minutes |
| 10. Add inventory | Inventory → Add inventory | Varies |
| 11. Run a first show | Auctions → New Show | One stream |
1. Create your account#
The person who signs up becomes the business’s first Admin. Everyone else joins later from an invite link, not from this page.
- 1Open the LASI sign-up page — Start free or Start free trial on the LASI website.
- 2Fill in Business Name, Your Name, Email address and a Password of at least 10 characters. If the page offers Continue with Google, you can use that instead of a password.
- 3Press Create account.
- 4If you see Check your email, open the confirmation link LASI sent. It signs you in and asks you to finish with Create Business — your business name is already filled in.
2. Start your free trial#
Admins
A new business starts read-only: you can look around, but nothing can be saved until the free trial is started. LASI takes you straight to the billing page after sign-up, and a banner at the top of every page says Start your 7-day free trial to make changes until you do.
- 1Open
Settings → Billing & data(or press Go to billing on the banner). - 2Pick a plan with its Choose button (or Start free trial if only one option is shown). Every plan has every feature; plans differ by monthly orders and team size.
- 3You are sent to Whop, LASI’s payment provider, to enter a card. The card is not charged until the trial ends.
- 4When you come back, the banner is gone and you can make changes.
You can change or cancel the plan later from Manage on Whop on the same card. Plans, seat limits and what happens if a payment fails are in Billing, plans and your data.
Your first look: the tour and the checklist#
The first time you open LASI, a short Welcome to LASI tour appears. Use Next, Back or Skip; the last step’s button is Get started. It shows once per person, and anyone can see it again from the Help page with Replay the welcome tour.
Admins also get a Finish setting up card at the top of the page. It ticks itself off as you go:
- Add your inventory — import pallet bins or SKU items (or, if Shopify is already connected, import your whole Shopify store in one click).
- Invite your team and add your hosts.
- Connect TikTok Shop.
- Connect Shopify — marked optional.
- Run your first show.
The card disappears once everything except Shopify is done. Dismiss hides it on that browser for good.
3. Check your business name and timezone#
Admins
- 1Open
Settings → Business. - 2Under Business Name, correct the name if needed and press Save. It appears on invites.
- 3Under Timezone, pick the clock your business day runs on. It saves as soon as you choose.
The timezone decides which calendar day every sale, show and report belongs to. The choices are the US zones: Eastern, Central, Mountain, Mountain without daylight saving (Phoenix), Pacific, Alaska and Hawaii. A new business starts on the zone of the computer it was created on when it is one of these, otherwise on Eastern — check it either way.
4. Connect TikTok Shop#
Admins
Connecting TikTok Shop lets LASI read your orders, cancellations, returns, fees and payouts. LASI connects shops registered in the United States.
- 1Open
Settings → Integrations → TikTok Shop. - 2Press Connect TikTok Shop. You are sent to TikTok.
- 3Sign in with the Seller Center account that owns the shop and approve LASI’s access.
- 4TikTok sends you back to LASI, which shows Successfully connected to TikTok Shop! and the shop’s name.
- 5Press Test Connection to be sure it is working.
- 6Optional: press Sync categories under Product categories if you will use auction templates (see Scheduling).
Connecting only lets LASI read. It does not send anything to TikTok except where a feature says so and is switched on — answering returns, for example, is off until an admin turns it on.
5. Name the shop accounts you stream on#
Admins
Each show records which TikTok shop account it ran on, so sales can be compared per account.
- 1Open
Settings → Shows. - 2Under TikTok Shops, type an account name (for example
lasideals) and press + Add Shop. - 3Repeat for every account you stream from. Remove takes one off the list.
6. Check your TikTok fee rate#
Admins
When a show is finalized, LASI estimates TikTok’s fee from a rate, then corrects it to TikTok’s own figures as orders settle.
- 1Open
Settings → Businessand find TikTok Fees. - 2Check the TikTok fee (%) box holds TikTok’s referral rate for your shop, and press Save TikTok fee if you change it.
- 3Leave Use my measured rate automatically and Update each show’s fees as TikTok settles ticked unless you have a reason not to.
The full story, including how the measured rate works, is in TikTok fees and shipping profit.
7. Add your hosts and workers as staff records#
Admins
A staff record is a person on your payroll: who hosts shows and what they are paid. It is separate from a login. Shows pick their host from staff records, and commission is paid to them. Add everyone who hosts, even if they will never log in.
- 1Open
Settings → Teamand scroll to Staff & Payroll. - 2Press + Add Staff.
- 3Enter the Name and pick a Role: Host, Worker or Both.
- 4For a host, pick How is this host paid? under Host pay: Commission with a Commission %, or Hourly, Daily wage or Per show with a Rate. For a worker, type their Hourly wage for packing.
- 5Press Save.
- 6Optional: under Host Commission Tiers, press Edit to pay a higher rate on bigger shows.
More on commission in Hosts, co-hosts and commission.
8. Invite your team#
Admins and managers
- 1Open
Settings → Teamand press Invite Employee. - 2Enter their Email and pick a Role. The description under the box says what that role can do.
- 3Press Create Invite. LASI shows a join link. If email is set up for your account, the invite is also emailed.
- 4Send the link. They open it, choose a name and password, and press Create Account & Join.
- 5For a Host: once they have joined, pick their staff record in the dropdown on their row in the Team card. That is what gives them their own shows and their own commission.
Invite links last 7 days. Roles, seat limits and the host link are covered in Your team and roles.
9. Phones, printers, scanners and the extension#
None of these are needed to start, but most teams set them up in the first week.
| What | Why | Where to read |
|---|---|---|
| The LASI iPhone app | Watch a show’s sales live on the Today tab, count on the counting board, scan with the camera, receive deliveries | The LASI iPhone app |
| A label printer at the packing bench | Scan a sticker and the shipping label prints with no dialog | Printers, scanners and cameras, then Settings → Integrations → Printing |
| A USB barcode scanner | Faster scanning at the bench, the Returns desk and when scanning stock in | Printers, scanners and cameras |
| The Chrome extension on the streaming laptop | Live viewers, likes and sales while you stream, and every stream kept to compare | The LASI Chrome extension, then Settings → Integrations → Stream stats |
| Shipping templates | Only if LASI will weigh and box your orders | Shipping |
10. Add your inventory#
Admins and managers
Open Inventory and press Add inventory. The menu has every way in:
- Add a pallet — a lot of the same thing, bought at one price. The quickest way to start with bins.
- Scan in items — anything with a barcode: scan, review, finalize.
- From a spreadsheet — upload a CSV of pallets or items.
- Your whole Shopify store — every product, its stock and its cost, if Shopify is connected.
- Upload an invoice — LASI reads a supplier invoice and restocks when the delivery lands.
Enter what each thing cost. LASI’s profit figures are only as good as the costs you give it; a cost you do not know yet can be added later. Details in Inventory, The catalog and Incoming orders.
11. Run your first show#
- 1Open Auctions and press New Show.
- 2Answer When are you recording sales? — After the show is the simplest start for bin sellers.
- 3Fill in the Name, Show date, TikTok Shop and Host, then press the create button at the bottom (for an after-the-show show it reads Create and enter sales).
- 4Go live on TikTok. On the iPhone app’s Today tab, tap the stream and link it to the show so LASI knows which orders are this show’s.
- 5After the stream, follow the show’s steps: count what sold, then finalize.
Step-by-step guides: Shows, The post-show flow, Finalizing.
Optional connections#

Common questions#
I can see everything but nothing saves. Why?
The free trial has not been started. Open Settings → Billing & data and choose a plan. Your data is safe and readable meanwhile.
Will I be charged during the trial?
No. The card is taken up front and charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel on Whop before then.
My employee signed up on the sign-up page and now has their own empty business.
The sign-up page always creates a new business. Send them an invite link from Settings → Team → Invite Employee instead. If they already created an account with that email, the invite page asks for that account’s password and joins them to your business.
TikTok says my shop is not available in this region.
LASI connects TikTok Shops registered in the United States. A shop registered elsewhere cannot be connected yet.
I do not see the Integrations tab in Settings.
Only admins see it. Managers see Team, Shipping and Account.
Do I have to connect Shopify?
No. It is optional and only useful if you also sell on Shopify or keep your catalog there.
Can I undo the setup checklist being dismissed?
The checklist is only a shortcut to pages you can always reach: Inventory, Settings → Team, Settings → Integrations and Auctions.
Can the phone app do the setup?
Inviting people works on the phone (Menu → Team), but connections, fees and staff records are set up on the web.
Not on LASI yet?
Signups open soon. Leave your email and we’ll tell you the moment they do.
